Making Meals Easy with Chef Adrian Beaty

This whole farming journey started for me as something I wanted for our family. It’s why I started raising animals in the first place, I wanted healthy, high-quality meat that I could feel confident feeding my family.

It wasn’t long before we started to grow as a farm and business that time seemed to slip away on me and suddenly I didn’t have the time to cook with all that wonderful meat we were producing… which kind of defeated the purpose, didn’t it?

That’s when we started purchasing frozen prepared meals from Chef Adrian — years ago he launched a line of prepared foods and he selected our farm as one of his suppliers. When I realized how convenient it was for our family we asked him to start making a custom line of meals for us to offer to our community of customers.

Fast forward and we’re now focused on selling a growing line of high-quality chef prepared meals, side dishes, desserts and more in partnership with Chef Adrian’s business Salt & Thyme.

It’s a perfect partnership, Chef Adrian and his lovely wife Shannon get to focus on creating delicious food and we handle getting it into the hands of our customers.

What types of products are available?

These days we have such a large line up of products — Everything from hearty soups, to main courses like chicken pot pies, side dishes such as our popular country mashed potatoes, and desserts like my favourite tiramisu.

Some of the products are constants like our lasagnas, shepards pies, and pulled pork and some items only roll in with limited availability and on a seasonal basis such as our desserts made with local seasonal fruit.

Do you sell gluten free products?

Yes some of our prepared foods items like our crab cakes are gluten free and it’ll say so in the product description in our online store. That said it’s important to keep in mind that the Salt & Thyme kitchen is not a gluten free facility.

We will be working with Adrian in the coming months to offer more gluten free options… especially since I’m now on a gluten free diet from my doctors. I still gotta eat!

How do I get my hands on your prepared meals?

Pop over to the online store and place an order for either pick up from the farm gate at 225 216th street or for home delivery. We offer delivery on all orders over $100 each week with the delivery date dependent on what city you live in.

If you won’t be home for delivery, not a problem. We’ll leave your order in an insulated box or preferably leave a cooler out for us to reduce unnecessary waste.

We receive product from Chef Adrian each week so be sure to check out our online store regularly to see what new products we have for you.

What are your favourite products?

Jay: Pulled Pork — Just grab some fresh buns and whip up a quick coleslaw and you’re done.

Jorja: Squash & Apple Soup — She’s obsessed!

Jagger: Lasagna — It’s so filling and perfect for Jagger after a long day of football

Sharon: Chicken Pot Pie — Quick and easy and it feels homemade… only without the work

Kendall: Crab Cakes — They are perfect in an Air Fryer, nice and crispy and not greasy

Who are prepared foods good for?

They are good for everyone but one thing I love doing with them is giving them as gifts. Why not grab some for that new mama in your life (I promise she’ll love you for it) or your parent who hasn’t been well lately? We have parents who buy them for adult children to make sure they’re still eating well.

Our prepared foods line has never been more important to us than during our recent move, I still don’t have a kitchen thanks to supplier shortages but I can cook all these items with a hot plate or in my convection toaster oven.

Sports parents, listen up — You can serve your crew a family sized Chicken Pot Pie for less money than hitting up the A&W drive thru. Trust me I did the math after I took our family of four there in desperation on our last trip to the ranch and you’re going to feel a heck of a lot better after you eat it.

If you want to give the gift of easy meals, you can give a gift certificate that your loved one can use to order for themselves with delivery or you can set it up so you place the order and we simply deliver to you for gifting or we can send it directly to them.
