Whole Hog Butchery Workshops

Yesterday we hosted our first ever hands-on butchery workshop… well, more correctly Jay and Jagger hosted our first butchery workshop here in Langley.

The idea came to us as we have seen more recently a growing number of people interesting in not only increasing their sense of food security but also that many folks are wanting to learn more skills that connect them to where that food comes from.

Enter Jay, you guys he’s a really great teacher and a whiz with a knife, so he decided he wanted to start hosting workshops for our community to help them fill their freezer and learn butchery.

The idea is that we keep in small, with each participant or pair if you want to bring someone receiving a side of pasture raised pork from Central Park Farms (obviously lol) and during the four hour session, you’ll work with Jay hands on to break down your pork.

To make sure you get lots of help, we limit it to four sides per class and Jagger is there to help with any heavy lifting so you can focus on Jay’s instruction.

After the workshop is finished, we’ll package the product, freeze it for you and deliver it to your home.

Well it’s been less than a day, and feedback has already rolled in and I’m so excited to share.

‘It was a fabulous experience!! Jay is an excellent teacher and I not only learned so much, I had fun. Super grateful for this opportunity.’ Johanna

‘The workshop yesterday was fun and great brainfood. I had an amazing sleep. I love how relaxed Jay is.’ Raquel

… and now you know that Jay and I are very different — Not sure I’ve ever been told I’m relaxed, haha.

We have two more tickets available for our July workshop, follow the link below if you’d like more information.
