The Most Epic Burger Sauce

The burger is the star of the show, but the right sauce? That’s what takes it over the top. This one’s bold, creamy, a little spicy, and totally addictive. It’s everything a great burger sauce should be.

Keep it classic with just a slice of melty Cheddar cheese, or add lettuce and tomato if you're feeling it, but honestly, when the burger’s cooked just right and this sauce is on the scene, you don’t need much else. It’s the finishing touch that brings it all together.

Makes: About 1½ cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (your favorite brand)

  • 1–2 tbsp BBQ sauce (depending on how smoky/sweet you like it)

  • 1 tbsp sweet relish

  • ½ cup yellow mustard

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ¼ bread and butter pickles, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp chopped pickled jalapeños

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine mayo, ketchup, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, relish, and mustard. Stir until smooth.

  2. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, chopped pickle, and pickled jalapeños.

  3. Taste and tweak to your liking — more hot sauce for heat, more mustard for zip, or more relish for sweetness.

Store the burger sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. For the best flavour, make it a few hours ahead or even the day before. This gives the ingredients time to meld together and become even more delicious.
