Meet Creekside Cheese + Creamery — One of Our Favourite Local Farms

When we talk about the products we’re proud to bring into our farm store, Creekside Cheese + Creamery has to be at the top of the list. If you’ve seen their cheese on our shelves or had the chance to snag their milk or Greek yogurt during one of our special pre-order weeks, you know why we love working with them.

Creekside is a family-run farm and creamery in Agassiz, right here in the Fraser Valley. They make their products from milk that comes straight from their own certified organic herd — there’s no long supply chain or milk truck in the middle. It truly is farm to cheese right on the same property.

What makes Creekside special is how intentional they are about what they do. Johannes and Julaine, the husband-and-wife team behind it, dreamed for years of making their own cheese from their cows’ milk. After spending time learning cheese making and building out a proper cheese cave on the farm, they opened their creamery and shop in 2021.

Their cheese reflects that thoughtful start: it’s handcrafted, aged with care, and really tastes like milk and land, the flavour of that place not just a recipe. Whether it’s a gouda that melts into a grilled cheese or a creamy feta that brightens a salad, each variety feels like something you’d make yourself if you had the know-how, time, and great milk.

Besides cheese, Creekside also offers cream-top whole milk from their self-serve dispenser at the farm, and on the weeks when things line up with our orders, we’re lucky enough to bring in their milk and Greek yogurt to our farm store for you as well. Those products disappear fast whenever they land in our store and for good reason.

But the thing that really stands out to us is how real their story feels. You can see their family in what they make, and you can taste the care in every bite. It’s the kind of food that makes you slow down a little, enjoy what’s in front of you, and appreciate the hands that made it.

Now I can’t talk about Creekside cheese without sharing that Jay’s favourite cheese of any he’s ever had by any producer is their Petite Savoie… which he eats all in one sitting.

Petite Savoie: Reblochon style soft cheese featuring a washed rind and a delicate, incredibly creamy interior paste. Our most intensely flavoured cheese for the discerning cheese lover. Enjoy on a cheese board or use in authentic French tartiflette. Melts well and can be baked like a brie with sweet or savoury toppings.
