The Starting of Central Park Farms

How'd it all happen?

Where to begin?!

Let's start with the fact that I was never born a farm girl, but after completely shaking up life as I knew it I ended up falling for the farm boy.

And, although I'd never had much of a connection to the food I eat, I found his stories of farming fascinating. As I pressed him for more information on commercial farming practices it soon became clear that I no longer wished to participate in blindly consuming meat I didn't know was raised humanely and ethically.

I wanted to know where my food came from, how it was treated, and what the heck was in it!

So, although I'm still a corporate girl by trade, I threw myself head first into farming. With a ton of help from my guy I'm now proudly raising chickens and pigs on our 40 acre farm in south Langley.

Now, at least part-time, I'm a gum-boot-wearing, feed-bag-slinging, farm-girl-in-training. And I'm loving every minute of it.
